COMPANY HISTORY

Early years

The founder of AS Luksusjaht, Sven Lennart Alpstål, started building sailboats in Sweden back in 1979, at the time when he was in high school. The first sailboats were made in his home garage, after that he rented a larger site in his hometown in Sweden.

AS Luksusjaht

In 1995, Sven Lennart Alpstål founded AS Luksusjaht, a boat manufacturing company that is located on Saaremaa island in Estonia. In the first years 32-40 feet long Excel sailboats were built.

The first production building

In 1998, Luksusjaht bought a heating plant from the local fuel company, Saare Kütus, which was converted into a production building.

Production in 1990s

In 1998, furnishings for Scanner sailing yachts were produced in the new production building. In 1999 the company started building sailing yachts for the Swedish brand Arcona.

Sailboats transport to Sweden

Most of the sailboats that were built were sold to Sweden, where they were delivered by truck or by sailing across the sea. Nowadays also the main part of Luksusjaht production goes to Sweden. On the right side you can see a picture of a truck that was used to transport sailboats to Sweden in the 90s.

The production of Delta motorboats

In 2006, AS Luksusjaht bought the Delta Powerboats brand and started developing and producing new Delta models. The first new model produced in Estonia was the Delta 40.

Construction of new production site

In 2007 a new assembly department was built, which made it possible to produce more sailboats and motorboats. In the same year sailing yachts for Nautor Swan were built in Luksusjaht factory.

World's first production powerboat made of carbon fiber

In 2010 we challenged the status quo of the motoryacht industry whith the launch of Delta 54 IPS, the first production powerboat in the world made of carbon fiber, yielding a reduction of fuel consumption and emissions with up to 40 percent. Since 2010 all Delta Powerboats larger motoryachts are made of carbon fiber. Read more about Delta 54 from here.

Production of Dahl Naval boats

In 2012 Luksusjaht bought the Dahl Naval motorboat brand, in the first years production was continued in Sweden. Since 2015, Dahl Naval motorboats have been produced at Luksusjaht factory. Dahl Naval is a Swedish premium class RIB type motorboats brand. Read more about Dahl Naval from here.

New production site and showroom

In 2012 a new, larger production building was completed, which enables us to build even larger vessels, like the Delta 88 IPS. In addition, a showroom with office spaces was also built in 2012.

Delta 88 carbon

In 2013 the flagship of Delta Powerboats, an 88 foot long carbon fiber luxury yacht was launched. The yacht has an impressive top speed of 39 knots. Delta 88 carbon, as well as Delta 54 ips have both been appointed winners at the MB&Y Motor Boat of the Year Awards. Read more about Delta 88 IPS from here.

Delta 48 Coupé

In 2023 the all new Delta 48 Coupé was built in our shipyard. The carbonfiber built boat is one of the most efficient and fastest motorboat in its class. With twin Mercury outboards the boat reaches stop speed of 50 knots and with Volvo Penta inboards the boat consumes only 3,4 liters per nautical mile.
